A Scarf for Max

Autumn was settling into Moonlit Hollow. 🍂

The mornings were cooler now, and each day a few more golden leaves tumbled across the paths.

As Reese watched Max head off on another adventure, she couldn’t help but worry.

Max was still setting off as often as ever—map tucked safely in his backpack, completely unbothered by the chill in the air.

But Reese remembered last autumn.

Max never seemed to have a scarf warm enough for his adventures.

And with colder days coming, that simply wouldn’t do.

Luckily, tucked inside Reese’s yarn basket was some yarn Max brought her from his last adventure.

Now she just needed to decide what to make.

It needed to be warm, of course. But a plain scarf? That simply wouldn’t do. It needed to be very “Max.”

Reese began pulling colors from her basket and laying them side by side. A deep navy, a soft cream, mustard yellow to match the buttons on his overalls, and just a touch of green to tie everything together.

She looked at the little collection and smiled.

Plaid.

Warm enough for chilly adventures, but with just enough character for a mouse who never knew where his map might lead him next.

Reese picked up her hook and got to work. 🌙🧶🍂
